Dog Walker
Take shelter dogs for exercise walks and yard playtime. You will be the most cheerful part of their day.
HSMC runs on volunteers. No government funding. No large budget. Just people who show up and give their time to animals who have no voice.
WHY YOUR TIME MATTERS
When you walk a dog, play with a cat, share our animals on social media, or help out in our office — you make life instantly brighter for a pet in need. Below are the volunteer roles we're hoping to fill — with flexible hours and days.
Unable to volunteer? Looking to support the Humane Society from afar? There are many ways to support our animals without being onsite. Community groups, food drives, donation drives, and other offsite events are deeply appreciated.

GROUP & CORPORATE DAYS
Company service day? Church? School? Civic org? We welcome all groups. Come to us — we'll have tasks ready.
Customized shifts for team building, shelter maintenance, supply sorting, and outdoor animal enrichment.
Supply drives, donation collection, DIY cat scratchers, blanket making, and birthday campaigns!
FOR OUR YOUNGEST SUPPORTERS
Scouts, students, and kids celebrating a birthday have all found creative ways to support our animals — sometimes alongside a parent at the shelter, sometimes entirely on their own.
Past supporters have organized food drives, assembled comfort baskets, built enrichment items, or asked party guests to bring a shelter donation instead of a gift. Whatever you have in mind, we're happy to brainstorm with you.
